We welcome you to the 2008 IST Graduate Symposium Committee to be held at the Nittany Lion Inn at the Pennsylvania State University on January 31st – February 1st. Developed in collaboration with graduate students in the Smeal College of Business and sponsored by the Enterprise Informatics and Integration Center and the College of IST, this year’s theme revolves around Creativity and Innovation: The Future of Information, Technology and the Enterprise.
The Symposium is about providing an opportunity for graduate students in IST and related fields to share and discuss their research and practices around the space of information, technology, and people. Organized and hosted by graduate students, the Symposium places special emphasis on promoting the professional development of graduate students, on broadening horizons through exposure to multidisciplinary and cutting edge research from a diverse set of research programs, and on fostering the growth of a community around the intellectual space of information, people, and technology.
We invite all graduate students and faculty from across Penn State to participate to explore the future of the enterprise. This year we are also inviting a number of professionals from industry and national research laboratories, including Google, Steelcase, and many others. Themes include but are not limited to future of information search, strategic role of IT in innovation, future of workspaces, social networks and virtual worlds, supply chain and service science, creativity in design and information sciences, IST in developing worlds, security and privacy...

Join us as we open our minds to new ideas and explore the future of information, technology and the enterprise.
